Sometimes I can’t find the right words to explain my feelings. So I’ll just let you watch this short Adidas commercial.
I guess a ball to the balls is kind of the traditional popular YouTube clip… or I suppose it goes way back, a la America’s Funniest Home Videos. But for Adidas? I suppose Michael Ballack and the Predator cleat could use some promotion, but is this really doing it for ‘em? (then again, I guess I am posting it here…). Maybe this is just the opening to another impressive 180Amsterdam campaign. Maybe. or maybe not.
Sometimes the most simple ideas can be the most intriguing. Check out this clip of street artist Aakash Nihalani. And take a look at his website as well… some pretty simple yet pretty awesome stuff.
Oh. and I want to have a bag with all that tape in it. but that’s just the art nerd in me.
really… does it get any better? This is on par with the guy that shot the other guy who was snorkeling because he mistook him for a nutria. I haven’t decided if today’s story ranks higher or lower, but either way, I wish I could get an interview with Sgt. Todd Hoodenpyl to get his take on it all. The clincher is the line from the AP story that states:
The Oregon State Police says the man’s dog is the prime suspect.
I knew there was something that the OSP did aside from writing speeding tickets. The full story, if you really need it, is over at kgw.com.
Many have tried, but so far nobody has been able to pry the decade-in-the-works Guns N’ Roses album “Chinese Democracy” from the hands of lone remaining original member Axl Rose.
Now, Dr Pepper thinks it’s up to the challenge. The soft drink company says it will give a free can of Dr Pepper to “everyone in America” (excluding ex-GNR members Slash and Buckethead) if “Chinese Democracy” arrives anytime during the calendar year 2008.
Well, it’s finally happening. It’s been announced that the album, lying in waiting since 1994, will finally be released this Sunday. And to celebrate, Dr. Pepper is honoring it’s word.
“We never thought this day would come,” said Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper’s vice president of marketing, reports the Associated Press. “But now that it’s here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper’s on us.”
A voucher for the free drink will be made available on drpepper.com for 24 hours this Sunday at 12.01am. Those who print the coupon will have until February 28, 2009 to redeem it.
Awesome. and pretty awesome publicity for all parties involved. While I’m curious to see how many people actually utilize the coupon offer, I think the word of mouth response will be the big winner, as I’ve already heard people buzzing about it – and not just on-line.
Wow. I’m really not sure how effective this is, but I am sure of how awesome it is.
Basically, Flogos are giant foam “coulds” in the shape of logos. You get the idea. There’s a ton of info on Flogos over on the Flogos website, including more video samples. This particular promo is even more impressive, because the flying cloud format works perfectly for Kirby, whom I will always have a soft spot for.
My friends know me well. and know that this is the kind of random and odd stuff that I just love. Thanks moT. This is definitely the best thing I’ve seen today… (although an awesome clip provided by the wonderful Montastic brought a huge smile to my face this morning). [via boingboing]
I’ve been busy lately, and unfortunately, haven’t really found a whole lot that’s intrigued me to the point of posting up here. Although this ad campaign is right up my alley and had me laughing for a good while. The tag for the campaign from EuroRSCG in Chile is “from 0 to 100 in 7.2 seconds. Peugeot 207 RC.”
Simple concept with a hint of humor, and some fairly beautiful art direction. Check out the other two after the jump. (more…)
When you’ve maxed out your own social networking abilities and are searching for that next step, you could always move on to your pets. At least that’s the idea behind SnifTag.
From SnifTag:
Monitor your dog’s activity while you’re away. Keep in touch with his friends and yours. Share helpful information and pet tips online. And get connected to your community. It’s hi-tech, it’s hi-style, easy to use, and completely customizable.
An interesting adaptation of social networking that certainly puts technology to an interesting use. The remote monitoring could be very useful for some… and I can see the potential intrigue in an online social networking site, but at the same time, should you really be “poking” other peoples’ dogs?
I’ve heard a fair bit about this ad, and the network controversy surrounding it. It’s no secret that big oil companies pour advertising budget into the major networks… but it’s still interesting that ABC won’t run this ad from the We Campaign.
The We Campaign has a petition to ABC going on over at WeCanSolveIt.org. It seems to be getting even more publicity now that ABC won’t air it. Interesting. And slightly odd.
A much more impressive sequal to the previously released Phone Joke Test spot. Creative, to the point, and memorable. Almost as good as the original Test Your Awareness spot, “Do The Test,” below.
It’s all at Do The Test, a website for TFL (transport for London). Pretty awesome stuff that makes you think. And makes you want to pay a bit more attention.
